We decided to use Justin's birthday as an excuse to get some friends out to join us for our barbecue on the beach. We got to the beach just after the sun had set and fired up the grill.
Justin is an expert when it comes to grilling and the steaks he seasoned himself and cooked were SO delicious! Too bad I didn't get a picture of them. A bunch of friends showed up and we all had a great time hanging out around the barbecue and ate some really great food. For his birthday, Justin wanted a German Chocolate cake. We had a brownie mix in our cupboard and since we are leaving and need to get rid of our food we decided to have brownies with german chocolate frosting on top (coconut pecan frosting). They actually turned out really good. The wind was blowing so we used a paper towel to block the cake as we were lighting the 29 candles and then Justin decided to light the paper towel on fire instead.
All in all the birthday barbecue was a success and we could cross the first thing off our Hawaii Bucket List!
